Naked Shots and Big Dogs

Now that Kalea's 5 months and moving around, she is finally aware of Cookie. Not sure the dog's too interested in her so much, though he loves trying to lick her...

Nice doggie, I wanna pat your booty...

Ok, enough with touching my booty, says Cookie

Being new parents, we must embarrass Kalea with bathtime shots. At Grandma's she gets washed like dishes in the sink....aaahh, comfy.

And then at home, Daddy is taking naked pictures of himself and Kalea in the bathroom...she's gonna love these when she's a teenager.

She also is extremely helpful on laundry day...

And finally, partying with mommy!

Halloween and other fun stuff

Since Kalea's only 4 months old, she's too young to go trick-or-treating (though Daddy and I would probably have eaten all her candy). Mommy decided to dress Kalea in an outfit Daddy brought from Japan, not really a costume, but a cute little tiger jumper thingy. Anyway, here she is on her first Halloween...

She can hold her own bottle too! Here she is zoning out and getting milk-drunk.

Here's some videos of Kalea...she is now laughing and becoming stronger and stronger by the second! Both grandmas say that she looks exactly like Daddy but acts just like Mommy...hope that's a good thing!

This one's a bit grainy, but it's so funny because she is just cracking up!

She is a roll-over pro. and it only took 4 months! I've been trying to get Kookie to roll over for 4 years...all he's mastered is shake hands and take a bow and I'm sure Kalea will learn those before we know it.

'Til next post!

Friends are Golden

Lucky Kalea has so many friends already in her short 3 1/2 months here on this planet. Here she is hanging with Russell at the Treehouse on Robertson. Such happy babies! They took turns eating each other's hands...

We also helped Tyson celebrate his 2nd birthday at Travel Town. Happy Birthday Tyson! Thanks for always tickling my feet!

Getting ready for the party...

Some cuties....Katie,

Alayna,

And Kalea! Pooped from a busy couple weeks of hanging with friends. What fun!

Sunday Afternoon with Great Grandma

Great Grandma broke her hip, so she's rehabbing at Keiro. We visit her on Sundays, and here we are hanging with cousin Eiji and Nikki! Get better soon, Great Grandma!

Here are some of Kalea's funny faces. She loves sticking her tongue out! Silly...

Playdate with Coco

One Monday afternoon, we paid a visit to Coco and Akiko. What a lovely time we had!

Chillin' with Kitty

These were taken at work from my camera phone. You've probably seen these "maneki nekko" cats at Japanese restaurants. The cat with its paw up is saying "come, come", basically a good luck charm to bring people into the business (little factoid for the day). Anyway, we noticed Kalea was the same size as the kitty, so we had to take some shots.

First Airplane Ride...and Gma's Birthday

During the first week of September, we headed up north for Grandma Oshidari's funeral. We are very sad about Grandma's passing, but glad Kalea was able to meet her. Grandma was an amazing lady, and truly the sharpest 93 year old we've ever met. She will be missed.

Here we are waiting at LAX for our flight

And waiting to take off. Kalea's holding on to mommy's hair for dear life...

Hi Aaron!!! Thanks for the kisses!

Stockton was really hot. Grandma helped me cool off with her ice pack....Kalea likes having cool feet just like her mom.

Meeting Aunty J!

Here's my cousins, Carter, Regan and Aaron. Regan was teaching piano to everyone!

After returning home, Kalea got to go to her first party! Actually, just a little birthday cake with Grandma...of course, chocolate dobash cake from Kings! Happy Birthday Ba-chan!

Another milestone this month....Kalea sees herself in the mirror and starts smiling! Who's that baby in mirror?!

Things I did in August

August was hot, but we still got to do lots of things. Here are just a few things we did this summer:

During Nisei Week, we watched Grandma's odori group perform in the Nisei Week parade as they do every year. I think Grandma had a lot of fun parading me around.

Mom and Dad are realizing their dining options are becoming a bit limited, but we refuse to give up good sushi. Currently the best sushi in LA is Sushi Zo in West LA run by our friend Keizo-san. The omakase is amazing, and the beer is good too. Here's mom and Kalea enjoying a beer together. Normally, mom is a wine drinker, but she read somewhere that beer is good for lactating moms, so all of sudden she's a beer connoisseur..

Cousin Aaron paid a visit to us, and we spent the day at the Getty. Aaron's getting good practice to be a big brother by holding me. After a long day in the sun at the Getty, Dad and I are pooped...

First Road Trip

So we braved the long road last weekend and went up north to visit the grandparents in Stockton and San Jose...Kalea did very well, slept most of the time in her car seat. She got to meet her cousin Aaron for the first time! Aaron was very nice to her....good practice for being a big brother soon.

Here is Grandma O, so happy with both grandkids!!

With Aunty Stacy and Aunty Nakano

Is it smile or is it gas? You decide.
