First Airplane Ride...and Gma's Birthday

During the first week of September, we headed up north for Grandma Oshidari's funeral. We are very sad about Grandma's passing, but glad Kalea was able to meet her. Grandma was an amazing lady, and truly the sharpest 93 year old we've ever met. She will be missed.

Here we are waiting at LAX for our flight

And waiting to take off. Kalea's holding on to mommy's hair for dear life...

Hi Aaron!!! Thanks for the kisses!

Stockton was really hot. Grandma helped me cool off with her ice pack....Kalea likes having cool feet just like her mom.

Meeting Aunty J!

Here's my cousins, Carter, Regan and Aaron. Regan was teaching piano to everyone!

After returning home, Kalea got to go to her first party! Actually, just a little birthday cake with Grandma...of course, chocolate dobash cake from Kings! Happy Birthday Ba-chan!

Another milestone this month....Kalea sees herself in the mirror and starts smiling! Who's that baby in mirror?!

Things I did in August

August was hot, but we still got to do lots of things. Here are just a few things we did this summer:

During Nisei Week, we watched Grandma's odori group perform in the Nisei Week parade as they do every year. I think Grandma had a lot of fun parading me around.

Mom and Dad are realizing their dining options are becoming a bit limited, but we refuse to give up good sushi. Currently the best sushi in LA is Sushi Zo in West LA run by our friend Keizo-san. The omakase is amazing, and the beer is good too. Here's mom and Kalea enjoying a beer together. Normally, mom is a wine drinker, but she read somewhere that beer is good for lactating moms, so all of sudden she's a beer connoisseur..

Cousin Aaron paid a visit to us, and we spent the day at the Getty. Aaron's getting good practice to be a big brother by holding me. After a long day in the sun at the Getty, Dad and I are pooped...
